Club Formation Roadmap (Nexus Badminton Berlin)

Goal: non-profit recreational badminton club in Berlin (no league ambitions) – with bylaws, fee policy, founding resolutions, registration, insurance, and hall application.

Values are loaded from data/kb_state.json (percent per topic).

Maintain the list in data/kb_state.json → founders.

Phase 1 – Preparation (no e.V. yet)

• Find at least 7 founding members
• Pre-agree board roles (chair / vice chair / treasurer)
• Draft bylaws (non-profit ready: purpose, organs, membership, dissolution/asset lock)
• Optional: tax office pre-check of bylaws

Phase 2 – Founding Meeting

• Approve bylaws
• Elect the board (2-year term; annual discharge ≠ re-election)
• Founding minutes & attendance list
• Approve startup finances: one-time levy, budget cap, reimburse prepaid expenses
• Approve membership fees / fee policy (usually outside the bylaws)

Phase 3 – Notary, Court Register, Tax Office

• Notary: submit registration, notarize signatures
• Court register: registration → e.V.
• Tax office: tax number + non-profit recognition

Phase 4 – Operational Setup

• Open a club bank account
• Member administration (list, fees, join/leave)
• BVBB/LSB membership + sports insurance
• Apply for public hall usage as a club

Phase 5 – Ongoing Operations

• Annual general meeting (reports, audit, discharge)
• Basic bookkeeping (receipts, purpose-bound spending, reserves)
• Plan equipment investments (nets, shuttles)
